Further decline in petroleum product prices is expected.


  

There is a possibility of further reduction in the prices of petroleum products in the country.

According to sources, petroleum products are likely to become cheaper by Rs 4.59 per liter from January 1,while diesel price is estimated to decrease by Rs 2.70 per liter.

According to sources, kerosene oil may become cheaper by Rs 1.82 per liter and light diesel by Rs 2.8 per liter. OGRA will send the final working report to the Petroleum Division on January 15. The final decision will be taken by the Ministry of Finance in consultation with the Prime Minister.

It should be remembered that the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 10.28 per liter and the price of diesel by Rs 8.57 per liter on the New Year.
