Police arrest Andrew Mountbatten, brother of Britain's King Charles

London: Andrew Mountbatten, the younger brother of British King Charles III, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Andrew Mountbatten is accused of providing classified government documents to notorious American criminal Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the news agency, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was detained and questioned by Thames Valley Police investigators. Police had announced this month that they were investigating allegations that Andrew provided government documents to Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a trade envoy.

Andrew Mountbatten has previously denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein and has expressed regret over his friendship with him. However, he has not commented after the recent release of documents by the US government. This arrest is the first of its kind for a senior member of the royal family.

In a statement, King Charles said, "The news of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's alleged misconduct in public office is a cause for deep concern. The authorities will have the full and full support of the Royal Family. The law must take its course."

He added that it would be inappropriate to comment further while legal proceedings are ongoing.

It should be noted that a new complaint was lodged against Andrew Mountbatten with the police following the release of more than three million pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The documents allegedly indicated that in 2010, he sent reports on official visits to Vietnam, Singapore and other countries to Epstein.

Buckingham Palace has previously said that it would cooperate fully with any police investigation and the king expressed "deep concern" over the allegations about Andrew's conduct.
