Quetta: 3 accused including police inspector arrested in Rs. 115 million robbery

The Serious Crime Wing of Quetta Police has traced the suspects involved in the Rs 11.5 million robbery that took place in a prominent business hub of Quetta two months ago and arrested three suspects, including an officer of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

According to Reports, ‘Anti-Terrorism Force Inspector Aurangzeb Khokhar was posted in the Special Operations Wing of the CTD and was arrested on Monday after receiving evidence.’

Police constable Mahmood and the resident of Qila Abdullah Habib have also been arrested in this case earlier.

According to the police, several other police personnel, including another police officer, are also suspected of being involved in this case, who are absconding after the incident and raids are being conducted to arrest them.

Inspector Aurangzeb Khokhar was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Quetta Saifullah Tareen on Monday after his arrest, where the court handed him over to the Serious Crime Investigation Wing on a three-day remand.

The robbery incident took place two months ago in December 2025 in the famous business center of Quetta city, ‘Kut Piece Market’, within the limits of the City Police Station.

The victim businessman Asadullah Loni filed an FIR in the City Police Station, in which it was stated that he has a solar and clothing business and also has a shopping center in the Cut Piece Market located on Masjid Road.

According to the text of the FIR, Asadullah said that on December 1, he had called the business partners Amanullah and Kamaluddin to a branch of a private bank located in Kandahari Bazaar, Quetta, to collect Rs 115 million.

Asadullah sent 10 people to the private bank, who collected the money at 6 pm and brought it to the office located in the shopping center. According to the trader’s statement, after counting, Rs 11.5 crore was kept in an underground locker and then the market closed as usual at 8.30 pm, when he returned home.

According to the text of the FIR, Asadullah said that at night the market president informed him that there had been a theft in his shopping center.

‘After reaching the scene, it was found that the locks of the office and shopping center had been broken and Rs 11.5 crore were missing from the locker.’

The market watchman stated that at around 3 am, unknown armed men came in three vehicles, broke the black lock of the gate on the Masjid Road side and five people entered. One of them restrained them and made them sit down, while the other four entered the shopping center and fled after the incident.

After initial investigation, the police handed over the case to the Serious Crime Investigation Wing (SCIW) for further investigation.

An SCIW officer told Urdu News that the police recorded the statements of the market watchman, the traders concerned and their employees.

“CCTV footage was also reviewed and the help of informants, in addition to modern technology, was also taken, which led to the identification of the accused.”

The Serious Crime Investigation Wing, during its investigation, found that a gang from Qila Abdullah was involved in the incident, which has been involved in robbing bank tellers and hawala hundi workers. This gang had planned the robbery in collaboration with police officers.

According to police sources, efforts are also underway to arrest other police officials and accused named as suspects in the case.
