Russian court fines Google $288,000

Moscow: A Russian court has imposed a fine on Alphabet subsidiary Google.

A Russian court has fined Google 22 million rubles (about $288,000) for distributing VPN services through the Google Play Store.

VPN services provide Russian users with access to foreign tech platforms and content that are banned or restricted in Russia, according to the Russian state news agency from Moscow.
