Islamabad: In the context of the proposed second round of
talks between Iran and the United States, important administrative decisions
have been taken in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad regarding
security and transport.
According to sources, transport hubs will close at 11 pm
tonight, and rent-a-car and tourism transport services will also be suspended
at the same time. The district administration has informed transporters across
the country about the decision and issued instructions not to issue any tickets
for Rawalpindi and Islamabad until further notice.
According to officials, public transport will not be allowed
to enter either city via the motorway and GT Road from tomorrow. However,
considering that the supply of food items will not be affected, consideration
is being given to continuing goods transport.
