Pakistan's decision to facilitate trade with Iran has allowed trade with any third country from Pakistan

Pakistan has taken a major decision to facilitate trade with Iran by allowing trade to Iran through Pakistan for a third country. The Ministry of Commerce has also issued a notification of the Goods Transit Order 2026 through Pakistan.

According to the notification, the federal government has amended the Import, Export Control Act 1950, and the order will come into force immediately. The notification states that this order will be applicable to the transportation of transit goods that depart from a third country, and the transit goods will be delivered to any place in Iran through Pakistan.

Routes have also been determined by Pakistan for the transportation of goods, according to the notification. Gwadar, Port Qasim, Lyari, Ormara, Pasni and Gabbad are included in the routes.

The notification states that the Karachi Port Qasim, Khuzdar, Dalbandin, Taftan, Gwadar and Turbat routes are part of the order, while the routes of Hoshab, Panjgur, Nag, Besima, Khuzdar, Quetta/Lak Pass and Nokundi are also included in the order.

According to the notification, the transportation of goods will be in accordance with the rules made under the Customs Act 1969 and in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the FBR.
