Tehran: Millions of people across the country, including the capital Tehran, held rallies to mark the Chehlum of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, top military commanders, and Minab School children.
According to Iranian media, the main rally that began on
Thursday morning was held from Republic Square to the site of Ayatollah Khamenei’s
martyrdom. Similar rallies and gatherings were held in several cities and
districts of Iran.
Iranian President Masoud Peshkekian also participated in the
Chehlum procession of Seyyed Ali Khamenei. During this time, he mingled with
the public and citizens also took selfies with President Masoud Peshkekian.
It should be noted that Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred on
February 28, the first day of the attacks on Iran by the United States and
Israel, along with some of his family members.
Along with them, several top Iranian military commanders and
advisors were also martyred, including Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Rear
Admiral Ali Shamkhani, and Major General Mohammad Pakpour.
