India: Former Indian film industry actor Vijay
Thalapathy gave 200 units of electricity free as soon as he took oath as the
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
C. Joseph Vijay Thalapathy, the leader of the
political party TK, who left acting and entered politics, started fulfilling
the promises made in the election as soon as he came to power.
According to Indian media, Vijay Thalapathy
signed his first government order today, launching a free electricity scheme
for domestic consumers up to 200 units after taking oath as the Chief Minister
of Tamil Nadu.
Domestic electricity consumers who use up to 500
units per month will be able to benefit from this free electricity scheme.
Vijay Thalapathy also signed papers to form a
special force for the safety of women across the state and to establish
anti-drug trafficking units across the state.
Earlier, in his first speech after taking charge
as Chief Minister at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, he said that there will be
no power centre in the state other than him. From today, a new era of a
government committed to "true secularism and social justice" has begun.
He thanked the Congress, VCK, IUML, and Left
parties for supporting him in forming the government, and especially thanked
the children, saying that TVK won because of them, as they convinced their
families to vote for his party.
But on the other side, the CM of Punjab, Maryum
Nawaz, promised that if she is elected, then the electricity all over Punjab will
be free. But she is enjoying the amenities of her designation instead of doing
something for the general public.
