How many trillions does the government collect from consumers in the form of the Petroleum Levy?


Islamabad: It has been revealed that the government has collected a huge amount of more than Rs 1.2 trillion from consumers in the form of petroleum levy during the last 9 months.

According to the document, Rs 1.2 trillion 5 billion 180 million has been collected from consumers as a levy on petroleum products; in addition to this, an additional amount of Rs 35 billion has been collected from consumers as a climate support levy.

In July 2025, Rs 1.45 trillion was collected from consumers as the petroleum levy, while in August, Rs 1.15 trillion was collected from consumers as levy. Similarly, in September, Rs 1.11 trillion and Rs 1.45 trillion were collected from consumers as levy and in October, Rs 1.45 trillion were collected.

In November 2025, Rs 1.51 trillion and Rs 1.57 trillion were collected from consumers as petroleum levy, and in January 2026, Rs 1.24 trillion was collected from consumers as petrol levy.

According to the document, 1.2 trillion rupees were collected in February and 1.37 trillion rupees in March as petroleum levy.
