Islamabad: The inquiry committee formed to investigate the
video recording incident inside Parliament House against Federal Minister for
Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has found the person who recorded the video guilty
and recommended legal action and registration of a case against him. The
committee meeting was held at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Rana
Sanaullah.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Rana Sanaullah said
that recording a video inside Parliament House is a serious matter and the
person who initially recorded the video has committed a crime. He said that the
main focus of the investigation is how the said person entered Parliament
House, whether he came with a member of parliament or got inside through some
other means.
Rana Sanaullah said that ordinary people can enter
Parliament House in different ways, some people come with members of parliament,
while some come to watch the proceedings with formal permission. However, no
person can be allowed to record such a video.
He further said that the committee is trying to find out
what the real purpose was behind making the video and what the motivations were
for this move. According to him, whatever action is taken according to the law,
it will be implemented.
In response to a question, Rana Sanaullah clarified that the
Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate cannot be held
responsible for the video leak as it is an administrative matter that will be
looked into by the concerned administration itself.
He said that apparently, there is no dispute or difference
between Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and Nasir Butt, so the question arises as to why
there was a need to make the video. According to him, the person who made this
video should be taken action against him according to the law.
Speaking further, Rana Sanaullah said that there is no need
to call the person who made the video in the committee, as it has been
recommended to register an FIR against him. Now it is the job of the police to
arrest him and investigate and find out what the real motives were behind this
move.
He said that the committee has prepared its final report,
which has been sent to the Chairman Senate, while further action will be taken
in the light of the report.
