Islamabad: The Foreign Office Spokesperson has confirmed the
visit of Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian to Pakistan. The Foreign Office
Spokesperson said that at the invitation of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif,
Iranian President Dr. Masoud Peshkeshian will pay an official visit to Pakistan
on June 23, 2026.
According to the Foreign Office Spokesperson, a high-level
delegation comprising ministers and other senior officials will also travel to Pakistan with the Iranian President. The Spokesperson said that President
Masoud Peshkeshian will meet the President of Pakistan during his visit and
will also hold formal talks with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
According to the statement, the Iranian President will also
meet the Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly and Deputy Prime Minister.
Security has been put on high alert in the federal capital
and Rawalpindi. The transport hub in Faizabad has been
completely closed, while bus terminals, hotels, restaurants and markets have
also been temporarily closed.
Intra-city, inter-district and inter-provincial transport
from Rawalpindi and Islamabad will remain closed during visit.
