Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)
has warned mobile phone users that if their National Identity Card is inactive
or expired, the SIMs registered with it can be suspended at any time.
According to the PTA, to maintain uninterrupted mobile
service, users should renew their identity cards promptly and keep their
information up to date.
On the other hand, the authority clarified that if the
identity card has been deactivated, it should first be reactivated by NADRA,
after which mobile service can also be restored.
