YouTube's major move to identify AI-generated content

New York: YouTube has announced that it is becoming more transparent about identifying content created or altered by artificial intelligence (AI). Starting last week, all videos uploaded to YouTube that have been significantly created or modified by AI will now display a clear AI label.

In longer videos, the label will appear below the video player and above the description, while in shorts, it will appear as an overlay directly on the video.

YouTube still primarily requires content creators to tag their own AI-generated videos, but the company has now also introduced an advanced Content Detection System that will analyze videos to identify AI-generated content, even if the creator did not tag it themselves.

If a video is mistakenly marked as AI-generated, creators can go to YouTube Studio and update its information.
