ISLAMABAD:
Balochistan National Party (MENGAL) chief and former member of the National
Assembly Sardar Akhtar Mengal has taken a significant step after he resigned
from the National Assembly by returning all the salaries and allowances
received from the time of submitting his resignation to its approval to the
national treasury.
Sardar
Akhtar Mengal has returned approximately Rs 78,92,725 in this regard. he also
sent a formal letter to the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) of the
National Assembly Secretariat, requesting the return of the said amount.
According
to sources, Sardar Akhtar Mengal has also submitted a cheque of approximately
Rs 78,92,725 to the National Assembly Secretariat, while all the necessary
documents related to the return of salaries and allowances have also been
handed over to the Secretariat.
Sardar
Akhtar Mengal has implemented his announcement through this step that he will
return all the salaries and allowances received after the resignation becomes
effective to the national treasury.
On this
occasion, he said that he is committed to the principles of accountability,
transparency and integrity in public representation, and with this in mind, he
decided to return all financial incentives received until his resignation was
accepted by the National Assembly, which has now been fully implemented.
