Night parties are the main reason for the spread of HIV, Health Minister Mustafa Kamal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said that the biggest reason for the spread of HIV in the country is not the reuse of syringes but night parties held by the youth.

Briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Health, Mustafa Kamal said that the increase in HIV cases in Islamabad has been considered in detail. According to him, more than 30 new HIV cases are being reported in the federal capital every month.

The Health Minister said that the majority of the new HIV positive people coming forward in Islamabad are not related to the reuse of syringes, but these cases are linked to dangerous behaviors among young boys and girls during night parties.

He said that young boys and girls are becoming victims of HIV due to night parties, it is the responsibility of parents to monitor the activities of their children and play an effective role in keeping them away from such environments.

Mustafa Kamal emphasized that society, parents, and relevant institutions must demonstrate shared responsibility to prevent the spread of HIV so that the young generation can be protected from this dangerous disease.
