Islamabad: The
federal government has decided to immediately import 1 million tons of wheat to
meet the country’s needs and maintain stability in the wheat market.
According to
the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the country’s needs will
be met through imported wheat and stability will be maintained in the market. The
ministry says that the needs of the provinces will also be met with the wheat
available with PASSCO so that continuous supply of wheat can be ensured across
the country.
The Ministry
of National Food Security and Research has said that the government is
committed to providing affordable and quality wheat to the people.
