Quetta: Acting on the directions of Inspector General
Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan, Railways Police Quetta has
further intensified its crackdown against the smuggling of narcotics through
trains. In two separate operations, the police recovered a total of 11
kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) and 6 kilograms of hashish, with an estimated
market value of approximately PKR 15 million.
In the first operation, SHO Railways Police Quetta Muhammad
Shahbaz, ASI Aftab Khan, Head Constable Ghulam Rasool, and Constable B.D. Niaz
successfully apprehended a 28-year-old suspect, Majid, a resident of Pattoki,
at Quetta Railway Station under suspicious circumstances.
During the search, the police recovered a large quantity of
crystal meth that had been skillfully concealed inside cooking oil containers.
A case has been registered against the accused at Railways Police Station
Quetta, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The second operation was carried out with the assistance of
Head Constable Muhammad Akram. During the operation, the police arrested
Kamran, a resident of Bahawalpur, who was attempting to smuggle narcotics
through the Jaffar Express.
A search of his belongings led to the recovery of 17 packets
of hashish and one packet of crystal meth, also hidden inside a cooking oil
container. A case has been registered against the accused at Railways Police
Station Quetta, and further investigation is in progress.

Sultan appreciated the successful operations and announced cash rewards and
commendation certificates for the officers and personnel who participated in
the raids.
He stated that narcotics smuggling through trains is a serious
crime and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reaffirmed that
Railways Police will continue to take strict and indiscriminate action against
those involved in such criminal activities to ensure a safe, secure, and
drug-free railway system.
