Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs40
billion more in taxes than the set target during July 2026.
According to FBR documents, the tax collection target for
July was set at Rs780 billion, while the net collection was Rs820 billion. A
total of Rs918 billion in taxes was collected, of which Rs98 billion was
returned in the form of tax refunds in various periods.
Total income tax collections during July were Rs343 billion,
however, after payment of refunds of Rs35 billion, net collections remained at
Rs308 billion, which was less than the target of Rs323 billion. A total of
Rs413 billion was collected under sales tax, while sales tax refunds of Rs53
billion were also issued during this period.
According to the FBR, Rs48 billion was collected under
federal excise duty in July, while its target was set at Rs47 billion. Similarly,
Rs115 billion was collected in customs duty during July 2026, which is Rs10
billion more than the set target of Rs105 billion.
