Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar confirmed
that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was transferred from the hospital back to
Adiala Jail after undergoing medical examinations.
In a statement posted on the X social media platform, Tarar
reported that, following the Supreme Court's decision, the prisoner was
transferred to the hospital under strict security measures overnight from
August 20-21, 2026.
According to Tarar, a team of specialist doctors, including
an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist, and an internist, thoroughly examined him
and declared him fit for treatment.
In his 2nd statement on X on August 21st,
he said that, due to the crowd of PTI workers, Khan was shifted to PIMS
Hospital instead of Shifa.
PIMS is a large government and teaching hospital in the
country, with qualified specialists in relevant fields and comprehensive
medical facilities. Therefore, the impression that reliable medical examination
was possible only in a specific private hospital is not correct from the
beginning.
As per the prevailing procedure, detainees are always
transferred to government hospitals. Imran Khan has been taken to a government
hospital for medical examination in the past as well. Nomination of a specific
private hospital could set a discriminatory and inappropriate precedent for the
future.
A full medical board, including an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist, and a physician, was present. Imran Khan was examined in detail and
declared completely medically fit.
His sister, Ms. Uzma Khan, was present during all the
medical stages and was a direct witness to the entire process. This ensured
both the transparency of the medical examination and the representation of the
family.
The results of the latest medical examination have refuted
the PTI's baseless international narrative about Imran Khan's deteriorating
health. If despite all these arrangements, some trolls and YouTubers are not
satisfied, then it is obvious that they are more interested in political
sensation and financial gain than Imran Khan's health.
It should be remembered that during the examination, Imran
Khan was medically fit and in a cheerful mood. He fully cooperated with the
doctors and medical staff.
