Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Google office in Pakistan.
Google Vice President Wilson and his team met with Shahbaz
Sharif to discuss promoting digital technology in Pakistan, creating
opportunities for youth and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Welcoming the Vice President of Google and his team on their
arrival in Pakistan, he stated that Google is a world-renowned technology
company and there are huge opportunities for Google in the country. Pakistan
represents the beginning of a new and important stage for Google.
Vice President Wilson expressed that Google aspires to a
long-term collaboration with Pakistan. It is necessary to intensify measures to
promote digital technology in the country, so that young people can take full
advantage of modern technology and the digital economy.
Later, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Google
office in Pakistan. In his speech during the inauguration, the Prime Minister
highlighted that Google can play a vital role for the youth and technology
sector of Pakistan.
Underlining the need to further expand cooperation between
Pakistan and Google, the Prime Minister stated that the government will
continue to take steps to promote digital technology and empower youth with
modern skills.
