Attempted land grab in Aghosh Housing Society, gunfire and violence by armed men — murderous attack on the victim



The series of attempts to seize land in Aghosh Housing Society has intensified once again. According to the land in-charge of the society, Raja Zahid Azad and his associates attempted to illegally seize the society’s land, for which an application was registered at the Humak police station. The police also obtained formal identification from the Revenue Department, but Raja Zahid Azad did not appear for identification despite being informed.

According to the Revenue Department report, when the society administration started constructing a boundary wall on its own land, Raja Zahid Azad and his associates started firing, a case of which has also been registered at the Humak police station. Despite this, the alleged acts of interference and harassment by the accused on the land continued, the reports of which are also with the police.

According to the victim, when he was at the PSO pump, a man named Shamrez Bhatti suddenly appeared in front of him in an Alto car along with three of his armed companions. The accused were armed with sticks and pistols. They suddenly attacked the car with sticks, as a result of which all the windows of the car were broken.

It was further reported that the accused forcibly unlocked the car and took the victim out. Shamrez Bhatti allegedly ordered his companions to attack, after which he was subjected to severe torture. The torture resulted in deep injuries to the victim’s right leg.

According to the victim, when people started gathering at the spot, Shamrez Bhatti fired about 25 shots from his pistol to spread fear and panic and threatened to kill him if he did not stop.

According to sources, Shamrez Bhatti is the nephew of Raja Zahid Azad, and he allegedly carried out the murderous attack on the orders of Raja Zahid Azad. A report of the incident has been filed at the Humak police station, while the affected party has demanded immediate and strict legal action against the accused from the higher authorities.
