Dubai: During Ramadan 2026, the fasting period in the Gulf
Cooperation Council countries is expected to generally be between 12 and 13
hours.
According to the Meteorological Department and Astronomical
Experts, the timings of Suhoor and Iftar will be close to each other in the
United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, which will
maintain a balance in fasting. On the contrary, the fasting period may be much
longer in Northern Europe and some other regions.
During Ramadan, changes are also expected in the official
working hours, educational schedules and public activities in the Gulf
countries as usual, so that a balance can be maintained between worship and
daily life. The relevant agencies will issue the final timings of Suhoor and
Iftar before Ramadan.
According to Experts the moderate fasting period in the Gulf
region provides convenience in terms of worship, daily planning, and health,
while Muslims around the world prepare for this holy month according to their
own regions.
