Toronto: A
shooting has been reported at the US Consulate in Toronto, Canada, which is
being described as a terrorist incident.
According to
foreign media, the shooting incident occurred early in the morning outside the
US Consulate in downtown Toronto. Upon receiving information, the police
immediately arrived at the scene and found bullet shells and evidence of gunfire
outside the building.
According to
the initial investigation, two unknown individuals arrived in a white vehicle
and fired several shots at the consulate building and then fled. The shooting
partially damaged the building's doors and windows, but no one was reported
injured.
The Canadian
Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are conducting a joint
investigation into the incident, viewing it from a national security
perspective.
Investigative
authorities have also released a photo of the suspected vehicle involved in the
attack and have appealed to the public to provide information. Security has
been tightened around the US and Israeli diplomatic buildings in Toronto and
Ottawa after the incident.
