A student of class 8 was asked to write an essay on the
topic of “Thieves”. You will be surprised to read this, but, highlighting the truth, he wrote something like this, which The Inquirer is presenting with any grammatical changes or paragraph alignment.
“Thieves are also an important part of a nation’s economy.
They play an important role in providing employment and in the country's development.
Safes, locks, lockers, cupboards, etc, are made only because
of thieves. Many factories and workshops that manufacture these things provide
employment only because of this profession.
Even in homes, masons and laborers find work in installing
latches, locks, and nets on windows and doors.
Then, security guards and watchmen are necessary to protect
homes, shops, schools, colleges, offices and factories.
Companies that manufacture CCTV cameras, metal detectors and
security systems also provide jobs.
Police officers, court staff, judges, lawyers and other
people get jobs because of thieves.
The economy is supported by purchasing barriers, weapons,
bullets, batons, uniforms, vehicles and motorcycles for the police.
Prisons, jailers and prison staff also get jobs thanks to
thieves.
When things like mobile phones, laptops, vehicles,
motorcycles, electrical appliances, purses or lipsticks are stolen, people buy
them back, which gives a boost to business.
Famous and infamous thieves often enter politics, where even
larger thefts are committed. Much more can be said, but overall, the role of
thieves in the economy of the nation is noteworthy.”
The teacher gave full marks (100%) to this research-based
essay and included the student in the merit list.
