When will the first Muharram be? Suparco's prediction has been revealed.


 Islamabad: The moon of Muharram-ul-Haram is expected to be sighted on June 15, 2026, at 7:54 am.

According to Suparco, the age of the new moon at sunset on June 15, 2026 will be approximately 11 hours and 50 minutes, with a gap of approximately 40 minutes expected between sunset and moonset in coastal areas of Pakistan.

Officials said that based on astronomical data, the chances of sighting the moon of Muharram Al-Haram on the evening of June 15, 2026 are extremely low.

The first of Muharram Al-Haram 1448 AH is expected to fall on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, while the final decision regarding the sighting of the moon will be taken by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan.
