Hyderabad: Five suspects who made illegal deductions from Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) beneficiaries have been arrested in the Shaheed Benazirabad area of Interior Sindh.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrest team acted
on a tip-off. The arrested persons include Amir Ali, Fahad, Abdul Majeed,
Mukhtiar and Nisar Ali, against whom a case has been registered. Officials said
that the suspects are accused of forgery, cheating and illegal deductions in
financial assistance of BISP beneficiaries.
On the other hand, FIA officials said that during the
operation, 12 ATM cards, 9 mobile phones, 2 biometric devices, a checkbook and
Rs 10,000 in cash were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
Furthermore, the officials added that further investigation
into the case is underway, while operations are also underway to arrest other
people involved in this illegal network.
