Rawalpindi: A departmental inquiry has been completed into
the alleged attempt to alter official records by breaking the locks of the Law
Office Go in Tehsil Office Raja Bazar, while a report of the incident has been
sent to ADCR Captain (retd) Tayyab Sami Khan.
According to informed sources, the locks of the Law Office Cantt
were broken on the intervening night of June 23 and 24, however, an FIR was
registered in this incident on July 17. The Revenue Department has conducted a
complete inquiry into the incident and sent its report to the higher
authorities.
Sources say that during the inquiry, an attempt was made to
put the entire responsibility of the matter on him by allegedly holding a
Patwari responsible, while questions regarding the facts and other possible
roles remain.
According to sources, there was no watchman posted at the
Tehsil Office Raja Bazaar at that time, due to which questions are also being
raised about the security of official records. Earlier, on June 1, Gurdawar
Rashid Mahmood of the Office of Law, Tehsil Sadar, had informed the Assistant Commissioner
Cantt in writing that an attempt was made to open the locks of his office on
May 25, but the key of an unknown person was broken in the lock, and he could
not succeed in his objective.
In the same regard, a written report was also given by the Tehsil
Office Cantt on June 24, in which it was stated that the office was locked and
closed as usual on the evening of June 23, but on arrival the next morning, two
locks were found missing.
According to sources, an FIR was also registered on the
complaint of Gurdawar Rashid Mahmood, in which it was stated that on July 2, a
copy of a death certificate from Mouza Bajnial was submitted to the office,
although the relevant death certificate had already been rejected. This form
was submitted by a person named Talha Iqbal, after which suspicion was raised
that the said person and his other associates allegedly accessed the government
records by breaking the locks and tried to take action.
Sources further said that a departmental inquiry into the
matter was conducted by the concerned revenue officer, Chaudhry Asad Pappu,
whose report has been sent to the higher authorities after completion.
So far, no official position has been taken on these
allegations and the inquiry report by the revenue department or other concerned
authorities.
