Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) busted a network manufacturing fake medicines in Baldia Town and seized fake medicines, raw materials, machinery and other equipment worth millions of rupees.
According to an FIA spokesperson, a large quantity of fake
sex drugs manufactured in the name of well-known pharmaceutical companies was
recovered during the operation, while machinery and other related equipment
used in the manufacture of medicines were also seized. The spokesperson said
that the total value of the fake medicines, raw materials and machinery
recovered from the warehouse is crores of rupees.
According to initial investigations, the accused were
manufacturing fake medicines illegally using the names, packaging and brands of
well-known pharmaceutical companies and selling them in the market. The FIA has
seized all the fake medicines, machinery and other evidence and has initiated
legal action against the accused involved in the network under relevant laws.
