A decrease of about 589,000 has been recorded in the total number of registered voters across the country. According to sources, NADRA has provided the latest record of voters to the Election Commission of Pakistan under Section 25 of the Election Act 2017.

Sources say that NADRA has recommended the deregistration of more than 1.484 million deceased voters from the voter lists, while the data of more than 894,000 new eligible voters has also been received by the Election Commission.

According to sources, the process of deregistration of deceased voters has been further accelerated, after which the process of making the voter lists more transparent and accurate is underway.

Sources say that the aim of revising voter lists based on fresh data is to make the transparency of the electoral process more effective and to maintain voter records in line with ground realities.
