Lahore: A case has been registered against 12 officials,
including the SHO, who raided the residence of a prominent figure in the
provincial capital on false information.
The police raided the private residence of an important
official in the Lahore Cantt area based on an alleged brothel; however, it was
later found that the action was taken based on false information.
According to police sources, the higher authorities took
immediate notice of the incident and suspended SHO Sarwar Road Irfan and 11
other police officials involved in the action.
Sources say that a case has been registered against SHO
Irfan, the concerned police station chief and other officials in the case of
raiding the house of an important official on false information. The police
have also issued charge sheets to all the concerned officials.
The police spokesperson further said that the SHO raided the
wrong house, for which departmental and legal action is underway against him.
Further investigations into the incident are also underway to determine the
culprits.
