Islamabad: NADRA has filed a formal complaint with the FIA
General Directorate regarding a violation of the FIA's established protocol
for obtaining confidential information. A letter to the FIA General
Directorate states that the FIA sent paper letters in response to requests
from Australian police.
In response to NADRA's letter, the FIA General Directorate
issued strict instructions to all FIA zones, stating that FIA offices and
circles must submit requests to NADRA through the Data Exchange Module Portal
for information.
In the order, the FIA General Directorate prohibited all
FIA zones from contacting departments directly and also instructed the FIA to
contact the Anti-Money Laundering Circle for information. The FIA General
Directorate warned that it will take strict action against the relevant
authorities for violating the order and noted the risk of confidential
information being leaked through the postal mail.
